Meet Dr. Bergstrom
Joan Bergstrom, MD, FACOG, MBA, is the founder of Women’s Health Services. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Bergstrom was the first female OB/GYN to serve the Arlington, Texas, community. Dr. Bergstrom delivers excellent care for women at all stages of life with compassion, warmth, and respect.
Patients trust Dr. Bergstrom for the treatment of a range of conditions, including uterine fibroids and polyps, urinary incontinence, abnormal bleeding, vaginal and uterine prolapse, and more. An expert gynecologic surgeon, she is skilled at a wide range of surgical procedures, such as vaginal hysterectomies, vaginal prolapse repairs, and bladder suspensions.
A native of Nebraska, Dr. Bergstrom earned both her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Dr. Bergstrom went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. In 2012, she became the first woman to serve as chief of staff at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington.
Dr. Bergstrom is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her leisure time, she enjoys cooking for her family and playing Scrabble with her daughters.
