I transferred out of this OB office in January 2026, and I am still trying to resolve a billing issue more than five months later.
When I was a patient, the office collected a $1,500 deposit and explained that they would file claims with my insurance and refund any remaining balance after the claims were processed. Since March, I have repeatedly followed up regarding the status of my refund and insurance claims.
Each time I contacted the office, I was told that the insurance claims had been denied. However, after speaking with my insurance company multiple times, I was informed that they either had no record of the claim or that the claim had been withdrawn by the provider. My insurance company advised me to submit the claim myself and requested an itemized bill.
Despite numerous requests and even providing screenshots showing exactly what my insurance company needed, the office repeatedly refused to provide an itemized bill and would only send a total balance statement. Without an itemized bill, I am unable to submit the claim myself for reimbursement.
When I spoke with Nora in the billing department, she told me that I could not file with my insurance because the office’s claim was still pending. I explained that I had already spoken with my insurance company multiple times and was told that they either had no record of the claim or that the claim had been withdrawn. Instead of helping resolve the issue, I was simply told that they do not provide itemized bills.
During that same conversation, Nora mentioned that the claims are handled by their corporate office, not the local office. This raised even more concerns because no one seemed able to provide a clear answer regarding the status of my claim or when it would be resolved.
What was especially frustrating was that when I asked how much longer I should expect to wait after more than five months of delays, Nora’s response was simply, “Keep calling.” After months of following up, receiving conflicting information, and still not having access to the documentation I need, that response felt dismissive and unprofessional.
Another major issue is that the billing department is nearly impossible to reach. They rarely answer their phone, and the only way I have been able to communicate with them is when they decide to call me back.
At this point, I feel like my $1,500 deposit is being held hostage. More than five months have passed, and I still do not have a refund, a completed insurance claim, or the itemized billing documentation needed to pursue reimbursement myself.
Owner, please do better. Patients deserve transparency, timely communication, and access to their own billing records.
All I am asking for is one of two things:
1. Refund my $1,500 deposit and bill me appropriately after insurance is processed, or
2. Provide the itemized billing documentation my insurance company has requested so I can file for reimbursement myself.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that future patients obtain written documentation regarding deposits, insurance filing procedures, and refund policies before paying large amounts upfront.

I had a great experience with Dr. Haley Spotts. They were professional, compassionate, and made me feel comfortable throughout my appointment. They took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and explained everything clearly. The office was welcoming, and the staff was friendly and efficient. My first appointment with an OBGYN / first Pap smear and Dr. Bergstrom made me feel very comfortable and calm. Her positive energy helped make the experience less intimidating.

Such a better experience than my last OB/pregnancy. I was able to ask questions and not feel rushed. This pregnancy was unexpected and has taken more of an emotional toll on me than my previous ones so having a caring provider was essential. I will say that I had to wait in a room for about 30 minutes before the doctor came in, but I didn't even mind. I knew that it meant this doctor took her time with her patients and I used the time to read an ebook. I will update my review at the end of my pregnancy, but I feel so hopeful this time after a really bad previous experience with a different office.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had during a well woman’s visit. I felt seen and heard.
These types of visits are normally so uncomfortable- but Dr Carter was attentive and make the experience quick and painless. When I mentioned I thought I was possibly experiencing early symptoms of perimenopause she recommended a book and wrote an order to get my hormones checked instead of dismissing me for being on the younger side. The office was clean and efficient. Would highly recommend this provider.
